Time is so fickle. Sometimes I sit down for five minutes, and suddenly 8:30am is now 2pm. Then I feel terrible. I haven’t done this or that or I really needed to try to spend time with my kids, or do this craft or whatever. I just can’t understand how somedays are soooooo slow, and somedays are gone before they start.
I’ve started this new thing, as in today is day one. I want to get through the morning until 9am without touching my phone. Today I got up ridiculously early so I used my phone until 6am. Buuuut from 6-9 I didn’t use my phone. I focused on my kids, my household chores, and getting my own morning routine done. Guess what? I actually got almost everything done that I wanted today…. Even this blog. And I have so much more energy I don’t feel as blah as I usually do on grey winter mornings. I’m not saying this is what will happen everyday, but it was well worth it today. Definitely encouraging enough to try it again tomorrow.
Also I put up a piece of artwork in my laundry room today, that I’ve been meaning to do for ages. I just decided that since I specifically was arranging the laundry room today, and the piece of art was already stored in the laundry room, I just hung it up. Now I have a pretty thing in my laundry room that makes me feel good when I go in there.
Dishes are done, kitchen is swept, bathrooms are tidy, and I’ve done my 5 minute tidy. It’s only 2pm. So when I get home from school pickup, we can relax, and spend time together without guilt.
